About

Sam is a Senior Lecturer across pre registration nursing for both adult and mental health fields. She has worked as a mental health nurse since 2000 and as a Specialist Practitioner since 2005, working in acute mental health inpatient units, Assertive Outreach and within Mental Health Promotion.  The majority of Sam's clinical experience has been with people experiencing severe and enduring mental health problems including psychosis, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, personality disorder and substance misuse. Sam has experience of working closely with people who hear voices and engaging service users who are reluctant and difficult to engage in care services. 

Sam has worked for 6 years in education and has experience in skills and simulation learning.  Sam is simulaton lead for mental health nursing at University of Derby.
