I am a Senior Lecturer in Motorsport Engineering,
I am Programme Leader for the Fd Motorsport Engineering course
And the Formula Student Faculty Advisor
I teach on a range of modules, including the practical motorsport workshop module.
However my main teaching responsibilities are for the Motorsport Chassis Engineering and Motorsport Design Dynamics modules on levels 5 and 6.
Outside University I am still very much active in the world of Motorsport working as an engineer, a data engineer and technician.
For the 2015 series I am the lead engineer for the Radical SR3 cup in Barbados and I also run 4 cars during the races. (I can promise you that it is not as glamorous as it sounds)
I am interested in Vehicle dynamics, Motorsport suspension and chassis design/development, Motorsport data logging/analysis and simulation – especially driver in the loop systems and how to the driver interacts / uses them as a driving aid
I am a fellow of the HEA (Higher Education Authority) and a member of the Society for the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers)
I have a BEng (Hons) in Automotive Engineering Design form Coventry University, a PGCHPE from Staffordshire University and 16 years experience in Motorsport
I have a massive passion for Motorsport that takes up a large amount of time, but I also enjoy Music, keeping active and spending time with my young Son
I have 16 years experience in Motorsport, both full time and part time. Those 16 years include club, national, international and world series level – I have been lucky enough to win at most levels including championship wins.
On top of the motorsport, I also have a strong development engineer within industry.
My international experience includes;
6 Years working in the European Le Mans / Endurance series
2 Years working in the American Le Mans Series,
1 Year in the World Endurance Championship
1 Year in the Barbados SR3 Cup
