About

I am the Assistant Discipline Lead for Diagnostic Imaging, Operating Department Practice and Osteopathy at the University of Derby. I am a qualified HCPC Diagnostic Radiographer. Before joining the University, I worked as a Diagnostic Radiographer in the NHS for approximately five years. I started working at the University as a lecturer in 2011, taking over programme leadership of BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography in 2014. I maintained programme leadership until 2019. I progressed to Senior Lecturer and then my current role in 2017.

As well as my role here at Derby, I am also a member of the College of Radiographers (CoR) Diagnostic Imaging Advisory Group (DIAG) and a CoR assessor. I am a peer reviewer for the 'Radiography' journal and sit on the Insight editorial and advisory board.

I am an external examiner for a Radiography degree at another education provider and I also hold roles with Quality Standard for Imaging as an assessor, Health and Care Professions Council Fitness to Practise panel member and I am deputy chair of the national Heads of Radiography Educators group.

In 2019 I was awarded Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academic in recognition of my impact on education at the University of Derby.
