As an International Student Advisor my role entails:

Providing appropriate, effective and confidential advice, support, guidance, and information services on ie adjusting to life in the University and in Buxton, the British culture or how to explore the Derbyshire area;

International student 'Meet and Greet' and welcome events;

International marketing and web pages;

Language development (ESOL) and study skills support;

Integration within the University and with the local community in Buxton to enhance student experience.

Additional Interests and Activities

I have received two awards during my time at the University of Derby:

"Outstanding Contribution to the University 2010" - for my three years dedication to International/EU students welfare in the Students' Union (2007-2010)

"Staff Excellence Awards 2011: Internationalisation" - for my efforts during my first year in the advisor role
