I teach Criminal Law, and I have responsibility for the Independent Studies. I also provide input to the Clinic module.
Teaching responsibilities
The modules I have previously taught include Independent Studies, Principles of Law, Tort, and Specific torts.I have taught both within the School and across Faculty to deliver provision to radiographers, Occupational Therapy students, non-medical prescribers in the faculty of Education and Health Sciences.
In the School of Law and Criminology my interest and passion however lies mainly in all things criminal....having taught Criminal law here at Derby for the last 6 years. The criminal law is an exciting, interesting and very broad subject which has an international dimension and increasingly a European dimension. Other than teaching criminal law to the undergraduate law students I also teach International Criminal Law and Transnational Organised Crime, both equally fascinating and stimulating. Additional Interests and Activities
As well as my interest in the criminal law I also have a keen interest in Medical law and Ethics, having had a successful career in the NHS as a health professional for nearly 20 years, and am interested in the law and ongoing debate on assisted suicide having worked in palliative care for many years. I have also presented on this issue at Conference.
