I am a Principal Research Fellow at the International Centre for Guidance Studies (iCeGS). iCeGS is a research centre which explores issues associated with career transitions for all ages through a range of research, policy analysis, literature review and professional engagement. I am a social science researcher who has managed numerous research, evaluation, strategy development and consultation projects throughout my research career. Recent projects inlcude:
- A benchmarking study of good practice in STEM career related learning for the Gatsby Charitable Foundation.
- A study of boys and girls perceptions of career for Chwarae Teg
- A research project examining the role of school leadership in the support for STEM career related learning in schools for the National STEM Centre
- A reivew of the equality and diversity implications of careers support in schools for young people aged 9 - 16 years for the Equality and Human Rights Commission
- Research papers for the UK Commission for Employment and Skills on the role of information technology within the careers support market
- Qualitative, in-depth research on teenaged mothers in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, and on young people who are NEET in Derby and Derbyshire for the East Midlands Improvement and Efficiency Partnership
- Survey and case study work in schools for the STEM Careers Awareness Timelines project for DFE with CEI at Warwick University and Isinglass
Teaching responsibilities

- Research ethics module in the Master of Research programme

Research interests are closely aligned to professional interests, with a particular emphasis on young people, participation and equality and diversity.
