I am a member of the Therapeutic and Complementary Medicine team and one of two dance specialists within our school. I also hold an MA in Dance/Movement Psychotherapy.
Teaching responsibilities
I am module leader for second and third year choreographic courses. I also deliver Expression and the Arts for the Creative Expressive Therapies programme.
Professional interests
My work outside the University includes education and choreographic project work with the Royal Opera House, Birmingham Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, Buxton Opera House and the Royal Ballet School. I am also an amateur for Rambert Dance Company and teach the company's repertoire in a variety of educational settings. More locally, I teach ballet and contemporary technique at Deda, Derby's dance centre. I have accompanied the Royal Ballet Company on a recent international tour providing workshops for local dance artists and with some of Hong Kong's para-olympic athletes. I have also taught on the HAMK summer school in Finland representing Derby University.
Research interests
Dance in education and the common ground between DMT and dance as an educational tool.
