Caroline Locke has been described as one of the East Midlands most innovative interdisciplinary artists. She has exhibited Nationally and Internationally and is widely known for her large-scale installation works. Working with water, sculptural devices, new and old technology, sound and video, Locke makes works that are often sited in Public spaces as well as in galleries and theatres. She has hade numerous national and international exhibitions including her film installation 'Fear Factor Seven' ; installation and performance Pellious and Melisande; site specific public work, Maelstrom shown at the 2001 international conference of the art and science of water at the Hotbath gallery, Bath and formed part of her exhibition Loop and was exhibited at the Vandskel Watershed festival, Silkeborg Bad, Denmark. Locke's installation Badnoise was included in a programme at the Podewil Center for contemporary arts, Berlin, in summer 2002. Water is a current theme within her practice and her current 'waterwork', 'Breath' reached number one in the Guardian Listings, May 2002.
Locke has performed and exhibited in Prague, Berlin, Denmark, Chicago, Holland, Ireland and Japan. She has taught fine art, public art and installation practice and interdisciplinary studies since 1993.
