Management responsibilities for staff within the post registration team. Overseeing undergraduate and postgraduate programme development and delivery.
Member of the BSc/MSc Community Specialist Practice (District Nursing) and Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (Health Visiting and School Nursing) programme teams. Module leader for the Ethical and Legal Issues in Health Care Practice and Policy e-learning module and Professional Development in Community Nursing module.
Professional interests
I trained as a nurse, then progressed to a career in District Nursing. Subsequently, I supported students on specialist community programmes as a Practice Teacher and Practice Educator. I currently practise as a Hospice at Home Nurse for a local hospice alongside my academic role.
My expertise predominantly lies in the following clinical areas: community palliative and end of life care, tissue viability, higher level practice and clinical leadership.
Research interests
I am currently carrying out a research project as part of a Doctor of Educastion programme; examining the support offered to practice teachers in their assessment of higher level nursing practice in community settings.
I am co-Chair of the Research Ethics Committee for Nursing and Allied Health Professions within the University.
