Research interests

Vered Lahav is a photographer and installation artist. She is known for her beautiful and unusual photographic installations, juxtaposing photography and three-dimensional objects made from a variety of materials - glass, wax, wood and rusted metal. Her work has been exhibited widely both nationally and internationally. Past exhibitions have been shown in Hamburg, London, Bath, Tel Aviv, Manchester, Birmingham, Osnabruck, Munich, China and other venues. Four publications have been published to accompany four of Lahav's solo exhibitions and at 2010 for the exhibition Sleepless a retrospective monograph 'Sleepless' (125pp) essay by: Kate Pryor Williams, Professor Carol Mavor & Professor Mark Durden

Lahav attained a BA (Hons) in photography at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem. She won the prestigious Clore scholarship, which funded her MA at the Royal College of Art, London. She is also the recipient of awards from the Shapira Foundation, the Avi Fellowship and the ACAVA award. In addition, she has received Arts Council Grants for Individuals in 2004, 2008, 2013 and the Awards for Excellence - Promising Researcher 2006/7 and again for 2007/8.

She has been lecturing in photography and fine art since 1999. Her teaching principles focus on enabling students to realise their artwork through theoretical and philosophical perspectives combined with practical application.
