Subject Area: Nursing and Healthcare Practice
The main focus of my role is teaching and supporting students with their learning. This is mainly with qualified nurses and other health care professionals who are undertaking further study at Honours and Masters levels to enhance thier practice and careers. I am also involved in curriculum development and co-ordinating a team who are developing e-learning modules.

Professional interests
For most of my time here I have also worked half time at the former Southern Derbyshire Health Authority and later Central Derby PCT in their Professional Standards and Clinical Governace departments. There I was very much involved in quality improvement and patient safety activities. I now have an honourary contract with the PCT for 1 day a month as part of my CPD to maintain my professional knowledge and involvement in this work which informs some of my teaching.
