Senior Researcher: identification and application to approriate funding bodies and organisations, preparing project proposals, project management, undertaking field work, analysis of data, writing reports.
In addition I lead a number of guidance related courses for the centre and teach on others
Teaching responsibilities
- I lead two courses for the centre. The Certificate and Advanced Diploma in Career Education, Information Advice and Guidance, and Managing Career Education.
- I teach on a number of guidance related courses for the Centre
- Module leader (IAG) for a foundation degree (Children's and Young People's Services)
Professional interests
Career learning at all ages and stages. supporting minority groups and disadvantaged youth.
Research interests
- Career learning, and guidance related topics, particularly interested in national policy context for guidance, lifelong learning and skills development.
- Careers in science, technology, engineering and maths
Particular affection for career work in primary and special schools
Membership of professional bodies and advisory committees
I am a member of the Institute of Career Guidance where I hold a senior position (chair the Careers Education Committee) also act as a consultant to number of groups including the QCDA and the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust with regard to career learning and IAG
