Experience in Industry
The early part of my career was spent at the Halifax Building Society and subsequently Debenhams PLC. I've worked at the University (and its predecessor Derbyshire College of Higher Education) since 1987. I joined the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology as the Senior Administrative Officer becoming Assistant Registrar Admissions, Deputy and then Academic Registrar, Director of Student Support and Information Services and most recently Registrar.
Department: Student Support and Information Services
I'm Registrar of Student Support and Information Services (SSIS) at the University. This role spans all aspects of academic administration leadership across all sites including admissions, registration, progression and graduation. Also core to the role are Planning and Information Services, Student Services, Student Experience, Student Systems and Operations and oversight of the University's Academic Regulatory Frameworks. I'm also Secretary to the Academic Board and responsible for the Business Continuity Management Framework.
Membership of professional bodies and advisory committees
I'm qualified through the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.I'm a fellow and Council member of the Association of University Administrators (AUA) and a member of the Executive team of the Association of Heads of University Administration (AHUA).
Additional Interests and Activities
My leisure interests include horse riding, skiing, and heritage and history. I'm also a keen supporter of both Liverpool and Burton Albion football clubs.
