Experience in Industry
I worked as a Diagnostic Radiographer for nearly 10 years before moving into higher education. During my clinical time I worked at Nottingham City Hospital, Derbyshire Royal Infirmary & Leicester Royal Infirmary, so I have lots of links in the departments we send our students too.

I undertake regular clinical update days to keep my knowledge & skills up to date.

I currently work as the Assistant Subject Head for Radiography at the University of Derby. I have worked at the University as a Senior Lecturer since 2006. Before joining the University I worked as a Diagnostic Radiographer in the NHS for approximately 10 years, specialising in CT & MRI scanning.
In September 2012 I was delighted to be invited to join the 'Imaging & Therapy Practice' editorial board, the professional magazine for Radiographers in the UK. This is an extremely interesting & rewarding role. I have also recently accepted a role as an External Examiner for an undergraduate radiography programme at another UK university.
Teaching responsibilities
Module leader for Developing Professional Practice 1 and Independent Practice modules on the undergraduate radiography programme.
Professional interests
CT, MRI, Cross Sectional Anatomy, Professional issues, Clinical Governance, Using NLP in communication.
Research interests
I recently undertook a small piece of research on prospective student expectations of the BSc Hons Diagnostic Radiography, and am putting together a proposal to expand on this work.
I am also interested in the use of Technology Enhanced Learning methodologies (such as blogs, wiki's, podcasts etc) in learning.
