Recent publications
Currently working on a Special Edition of 'Management in Education' the Journal of BELMAS, I am researching the impact of training on Senior Leaders in Integrated Services. Our Education Studies team have also published a textbook entitled 'Exploring Education Studies' edited by Vivienne Walkup (Pearson, 2011), to which we have all contributed a Chapter. My chapter is: 'Contemporary education policies and issues'. Prior to this I have regularly published at Level 3, in Politics Review, and also have published a set of Workbooks for AS Government and Politics, with accompanying Teacher Notes.

Senior Lecturer responsible for the MBA Educational Leadership and the MA Education Leadership and Management Pathway.
Teaching responsibilities
I teach on the MBA Educational Leadership, the MA Education (where I am the Leadership and Management Pathway Leader). I am also the HEI Tutor for the ALICSE course: training Senior Leaders in Integrated Children's Services. My main teaching interests centre around Leadership and Management in the Social and Political arenas. I am interested in inequality in terms of socio-economic group, gender, and ethnicity. I am interested in Social Justice and Leadership, and how teachers enable Social Mobility.
Professional interests
As a Secondary School teacher and Specialist Sixth Form Teacher since 1995, my professional interests centre around Leadership and Management in schools and colleges. I am interested in Leadership and Management and the future direction of schooling, and teach on areas such as Academy Status and the recent advents of Free Schooling and Charter Schools. In the past I have examined at A Level, and set A Level papers, including having trained teachers for Politics A Level Updates to the specifications, and given Student A Level Revision Conferences.
Research interests
I am currently in the process of researching for an Education Doctorate (Ed.D) in Leadership and Management in Education. I am interested in educational inequality relating to University access, specifically the International Baccalaureate. Have passed my taught modules in July 2010, I am now on the research phase. I am examining how Leadership Teams in schools and colleges deal with the introduction of the International Baccalaureate.
