I graduated from Coventry in 1980 with a BA(Hons) degree in Industrial Design/Transportation, and worked as an in-house designer for TI Parkray, and the domestic appliance division of Glynwed International, I went on to manage industrial design for the Leisure, Flavel, Rayburn, Kholangaz, Coalbrookdale and Aga brands before setting up ADDS in 1989. Conceived as a service for local industry ADDS became a design consultancy working on domestic and commercial products and retail display equipment for a range of local and internationally based companies. After gaining my PGCE in Design Technology I started lecturing in Product Design and running a series of product design related Teaching Company Schemes at the University of Derby in 1997, where I am currently programme leader for the BA(Hons) Product Design course. Continuing with my passion for all things design related I am also studying for an MA in Performance Sportswear Design and I am a designer and maker of furniture.
