Apple Authorised Trainer in FCP (Advanced Level)
Specialist consultant in digital production workflows. Steve is a highly skilled operator and trainer of camera, sound and editing equipment and provides industry level media training at The University of Derby. He is an advanced level Apple Certified Trainer in Final Cut Pro (Editing), Apple Certified Pro in Motion (Motion Graphics) and is a BBC Trained Camera Operator.Born in Yorkshire, Steve Watson studied contemporary art in Nottingham. He specialised in moving image and gained a BA Hons in 1994.Currently, Steve directs mainly documentary films for broadcast including ‘In Shane’s Shoes’ for Channel 4 about feature film director Shane Meadows. He has also directed numerous commercial and promotional films working mainly under his production company Big Time Films (www.bigtimefilms.co.uk) Clients have included Channel 4, Warp Films, Optimum Releasing, fashion designer Paul Smith, The Forestry Commission, tailors Whitcomb and Shaftebury (Saville Row, London), The Youth Hostels Association, NHS, Leicestershire Road Safety Campaign, The University of Derby, ‘The Gob Squad’ theatre company, The Arts Council, Nottingham City and County Council and Derby City and County Council. Steve is an expert in using the latest broadcast cameras including Sony and Panasonic and is also a specialist in High Definition production workflows. He is currently directing ‘The Hardest Goal’ a documentary about mass street football in Ashbourne. Steve is also developing a feature film project.
