Teaching responsibilities
I teach into all year groups of the BA(Hons) Crafts, BA(Hons) Applied Art & Design. I also teach on BA(Hons) Fine Art and contribute to the MA Still and Moving Image programme.
Professional interests
Professional interests include contemporary sculpture and installation based work, concerning aspects of site, location and history. My other interests are in the use of text as a visual means of expression, integrating place, space and page.
Research interests
Recent research activities have been two Teaching Informed by Research bids, "The Artists' Book as a Focus for Experiential Learning with in Creative Practice; An Evaluation of Cross-disciplinary Group Work" and "The Artists' Book as genius loci for the investigation of cross disciplinary creative practice within art and design". I am currently engaged with an ADT Research Fund project, "Concept as Concrete Form: the work of Eugen Gomringer and its legacy for contemporary visual art practice". I am also curating an ongoing series of small cabinet exhibitions, "Alternative Spaces - Artists Books from the University of Derby Collection". I am a key researcher in the Visual Communication Research Group.

Membership of professional bodies and advisory committees
I am a member of the Research Group for Artists Publications, www.rgap.co.uk,an independent, artist-led organisation, that publishes artists' books and editions, and works with other centres in the UK and abroad, setting up collaborative projects, publications, exhibitions and events. This includes the organisation of the Small Publishers Fair - an international event held annually in London.
