I am currently a Senior Lecturer in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship at the University of Derby. I have also delivered lectures in Southern Africa, and was instrumental in developing Entrepreneurship in Botswana, introducing an undergraduate degree in Enterprise and the new Entrepreneurial centre. I recently managed the HEFCE/NESTA project, this linked MBa Business students with the creative sector and used action based learning to promote growth in SME's.Teaching responsibilities

Research interests
I have co-written several research papers helping to understand and define entrepreneurial activity. Current research is focus on the student experience and how case studies can be used more effectively to promote student learning.
Other areas of interest include how Derby students can contribute to growth within the East Midlands, and then repeat this on a national and international scale.

Additional Interests and Activities
My lecturing roles in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship have allowed me to concentrate on undergraduate and postgraduate students both here and in Southern Africa. It is this mix of people and culture that allows me to promote varied Entrepreneurial activities across the business school, University and its partners to promote a more 'Enterprising student'.
Enterprising and Entrepreneurial activity is a cornerstone of economic growth and our students should have an experience at Derby that allows them to play there part.
