I am responsible for the development of sport at the University, in line with the University's sport strategy. We have a commitment to enhancing the sporting reputation of the University and we aim to achieve this through increasing participation, opportunities, and performance in sport. I liaise regularly with the sports academics and the Students' Union to ensure we maximise opportunities for students and staff as well as continuously striving to gain a unique position with the sector.
Developing close working links with professional sports clubs, sporting organisations, and national governing bodies is a key element of my role. I have a strategic role in developing new opportunities, partnerships and systems of work, these have initially been focussed around the delivery of coaching, officiating programmes, facility developments and developing performance pathways all with the aim of improving the sporting reputation of the University
