Experience in Industry
I spent more than 20 years in sales and marketing in manufacturing industry, during which time I held National Sales Management and Director positions with organisations including Dunlop, a Burmah-Castrol subsidiary as well as some smaller privately-owned companies, where I was responsible not just for sales and marketing, but also purchasing and new product development.

I am currently module leader for three final year undergraduate modules: Retail Marketing and Logistics, International Marketing and Current Issues in First Line Management. In addition I am also module leader and teach various modules on the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) programme.
I am Year 3 tutor for the BA (Hons) Business Studies and BA (Hons) Business Management programmes, as part of the Undergraduate Business Programme (UGBP) team.
I have also recently successfully completed a two-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project as lead academic for a local Derby organisation.

I always strive to deliver quality - on time! I am in the communications business - and never forget it!
I believe in academic rigour - with the real world thrown in! And finally, it is my job to make sure our students learn, enjoy learning, and learn skills they can apply in the workplace.

Complete the Buxton-Derby charity cycle ride in 2012 in 3.5 hours (took 4 hours for my debut in 2011) and double the amount of money raised from £200 to £400
Lose the weight I gained (8kg) when I could not exercise for 6 weeks following a cycle accident when I broke my ribs!
