Experience in Industry
I have been a keen rock climber and mountaineer for over 20 years and have spent 15 years working within the outdoor industry in a variety of environments. A considerable amount of my early career was spent in Snowdonia, working at both Ogwen Cottage and Plas y Brenin. It was here that I gained my MIA and built up experience working with both adults and children in an outdoor setting.
After some time spent travelling, I then gained a position at World Challenge where I became Senior Instructor. My role involved training new and existing leaders in the UK, Australia and the USA. I also led numerous expeditions of young people to destinations including; Tanzania (Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro), Borneo, Morocco and Romania.

I am the Senior Outdoor Technician responsible for facilitating the outdoor training element of the degree programmes. I work primarily on the land based modules but also work on the water based activities. As well as instructing, my main role is to oversee the safety and delivery of all the HE outdoor modules.
