Experience in Industry
Prior to graduation of my postgraduate degree, at age 22 I was employed by the Ministry of Defence as a Government Research Scientist working in Aviation Medicine (Physiology and Biomechanics).
On graduation from my BSc in Physiotherapy I have worked in a number of hospitals and private practices; I eventually set up my own sport-based private practice and ran this for a number of years until selling it in 2011.
With fellow colleague Lee Rylands and Minas Mina I provided scientific support to the talent identification process in Paralympic cycling for British Cycling.
Current Activities / Links with Industry
With fellow colleagues Adam Baker and Minas Mina I am responsible for the scientific support, strength and conditioning and physiotherapy of elite UK based international track and field athletes, team GB athletes and professional footballers.
In addition to the above I currently act as regional consultant physiotherapist and strength and conditioning specialist to the English Golf Union.

Teaching responsibilities
I teach Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, Applied Kinesiology, Research Methods, Strength and Conditioning and Sports Injury across all programmes and am Programme Leader for an MSc in Sports Coaching.
Professional interests
Lecturing: With a clear student-centered foundation I focus upon promoting students understanding of and capacity to critique peer-reviewed scientific literature through the teaching of specific subjects; related to this I also concentrate towards facilitating students understanding and application of evidence based practice with the goal of enhancing their appreciation and awareness of their own decision making process.
Research interests
My PhD topic is regarding the role of posture, its components and their manipulation upon power, speed and stability in diverse populations.
Separate to this I have recently co-authored and submitted one paper related to; and currently composing another directly concerning complex systems and its application to sport performance - I feel this area in particular will become increasingly important within the field of sport as its dissemination broadens

I have reviewed a number of articles for high profile peer reviewed journals.
