I've been at the University of Derby for over 12 years; 9 of which have been spent in the International department. Originally from Wales, I'm a graduate of the University of Bedfordshire.
I'm responsible for the direct recruitment of students and building of international partnerships in the EU, Turkey, Russia, Eurasia and Africa. I support colleagues in the Admissions Department, Partnership Office and the Online Distance Learning team.
My role also includes:
- Recruitment of students in EU, Turkey, Russia, Eurasia and Africa
- Representing the University at Education UK exhibitions and agent fairs as well as virtual exhibitions and in country bespoke visits
- Liaising with our partners in schools, colleges and universities in EU, Turkey, Russia, Eurasia and Africa
- Raising the University's profile at educational seminars and marketing events
- Recruitment and management of overseas representatives
- Answering questions about overseas qualifications, admissions procedures, institutions and education systems, international fees, visas and immigration, UK Border Agency Regulations relating to working in the UK and welfare issues relevant to an overseas student.
