About the course

On this course you'll learn how to plan, conduct and evaluate coaching programmes. You will gain the skills you need to analyse performance data, and convert this into coaching and training regimes.

Helping your career

You'll have all the skills you need to work in sports coaching, and you'll be qualified to assist other coaches in elite performance programmes. As a sports coach you'll be able to help sports participants develop their skills and fulfil their potential. As you gain experience and qualifications, you could move into lecturing, sports development, management or administration.

You could go on to study for a further qualification, such as the University Diploma in Sports Coaching and continue your studies with a postgraduate qualification such as the MSc in Sports Coaching.

How you'll learn

This course is delivered through a combination of online courses and three weekend workshops. Throughout the course you'll be able to study online, and you'll also need to attend the weekend sessions at the University of Derby Buxton Campus.
