University Spa Finalist for Top Award
Devonshire Spa staff were celebrating after reaching the finals in a top national awards contest.
The Devonshire Spa was one of four finalists in the ‘Day Spa Of The Year’ category at Professional Beauty magazine’s 2008 annual awards in March.
The category recognised excellence among day spas, which do not offer overnight accommodation.
We were pipped to the post by category winner Eastthorpe Hall Health and Beauty Spa of West Yorkshire – but judges praised the University’s spa as “unique” and “brilliant for the industry”.
Karen Wardley – Hair, Beauty and Spa Therapies Subject Leader – said: “We were pleased to be shortlisted, because the standard of entries was very high.”
