Victoria also went on to complete the MA in International Spa Management course and is now working for Elemis. Here's what she had to say about her overall experience.

Why did you decide to study this course

I wanted to study this course to gain an insight and integration into the business side of the industry, which I was really interested in.

Fantastic facilities

The facilities for anyone studying spa are second to none in Buxton, with the on site training with a professional brand and the chance to gain industry experience at various levels is invaluable.

Making contacts in Hong Kong

Yes I went over to Hong Kong to work with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group as a Spa Marketing Officer, it gave me a great insight into the industry, I got a great experience out of it as well as a fantastic reference and most importantly I made many contacts.

Inspiring guest speakers

Yes Andrew Gibson from Mandarin as a speaker, John Harrington and Jane Crebbin Bailey as guest lecturers who were great, they shared their knowledge and for me really opened up the spa industry to me. This helped me to make contacts and showed me opportunities I would never of thought possible.

Great life in a small town

Buxton is a very safe town and a close knit community. It makes it much easier to make friends and although the nightlife is limited there are many surrounding cities. I have still managed to have a great time!

Lectures and students hit the mark

The people and the lecturers make the University what it is and the students.

I'd definitely recommend studying a Masters course at Buxton

Speaking from the point of view as someone working within the spa industry now, I would say it really is the only place to be, the University is established well within the industry both in this country and abroad.
