Got the skills employers want?
You can add to you HEAR by being a student IT helper....
....or working part-time through the Student Employment Agency
What do I do when I've got the skills employers want?
Once you've got the skills employers want it's essential to be able to demonstate where and how you've used them.
You'll need to be able communicate this effectively and make the most of it on your CV or application form and at interview.
Additionally, University of Derby graduates will receive a Higher Education Acheivement Report (HEAR).
- The HEAR gives you formal recognition for your achievements beyond your academic studies, such as those undertaken through Skill Builder.
- Only data verified or monitored by the University or by the University of Derby Students' Union (UDSU) is published in the HEAR. Other activities outside the University which have contributed to your personal and professional development should be recorded in your CV or e-portfolio.
- The HEAR is issued when you graduate for you to access as an electronic, lifelong document.
- You will be able to say whether you want specific activities recording or not.
- You have control of who sees your documents with the potential to send quickly to multiple employers and you can check who has looked at it.
