About the Enterprise Centre
University of Derby Enterprise Centre began as an £8m project to transform our Jackson's Mill site, in Bridge Street.
The building houses:
- headquarters for University of Derby Corporate, which offers higher level workforce skills training and encourages new start-up businesses
- offices for Innovation for Learning
- a conference facility
- Centre for Entrepreneurial Management
- training suites
- offices
- an 'Innovation Zone' for start-up businesses.
The building has been constructed to the highest Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (or BREEAM) standards.
This independent assessment method examines a building's environmental impact; from land use and materials used and recycled during construction, to later management of its energy, transport, water and waste needs.
