Postgraduate Opportunities
By taking a one year Masters course we can further develop your skills through involving you in our applied work.
”Dr. Peter Jones, Head of Sport and Exercise
This year has taken on our first postgraduate students. We have engaged four of our best graduates from last year to be Teaching Assistants, assisting on first year practical's while studying towards their Research Masters in Sport and Exercise. In addition, Philip Clarke has also joined us studying towards a three year PhD in Sport Psychology.
Head of Sport and Exercise Dr Peter Jones says:
"It makes sense to try and keep hold of our students for as long as possible as we spend three years and a lot of effort training them too. It seems very naive to let them go off to other universities to continue their study as they have so many skills to offer. By taking a one year Masters course we can further develop their skills through involving them in our applied work. They are also contributing to the growing research culture within the Department and we hope some will continue to study and embark on PhDs like Philip".
Sport and Exercise Postgrads have had the opportunity as part of their study to work with elite teams and some of the University teams in sport science support roles, including: strength and conditioning, physiology and psychology.
