Rebecca Adams - BA (Hons) Sport and Exercise Studies

Rebecca Adams

The modules are interesting and fun even though the theory can be challenging, but there are tutors and lecturers who are here to help

The course

"I chose the course as I have a real passion for sport, and doing this degree will hopefully let me be a secondary school teacher, as I want to inspire children the way I was inspired by my teachers. The course is very different to anything experienced in college or school; it offers a range of practical's from working in labs to making clay models of muscles and bones."

"Tuition is very personal even though the university and lecturers may have many students they tend to know you and help you in any way possible. The tutors for me were a real plus side as coming to university felt like such a daunting place to be."

The university

"The University of Derby is a great place to study as it has a range of student backgrounds, for example I have friends from all over the country and they differ in ages as well. This is such a great thing as we all help each other and are in the same position when we first start."

"Going to University has been the best decision of my life as it's given me so much life experience as well as helping me gain a degree in Sport and Exercise Studies."

"To sum up Derby University is the place to be for great sport, great fun and a great degree! Tutors and lecturers are lovely and so friendly so no fear there."

The future

"Finally being at Derby has allowed me to be one step closer to becoming my dream of a secondary school sport teacher."
