Allie Bryan - BA (Hons) Sport and Exercise Studies

Allie Bryan

The course tutors are so helpful and are always there for you when you need any kind of help.

Allie is a current student on BA (Hons) Sport and Exercise Studies, and is aiming for a teaching career in sports.

The past

Sport was never a big interest of Allie's until she started secondary school. "That is when my competitive sporting nature evolved. I loved school and I wanted to do every extra curricular that was available to me at the time. After six months or so I realised I was actually very good at sports especially team sports and after the first year I was chosen to represent my school at sports such as netball, hockey and cross-country."

"This is when I knew what I wanted to do in the future and what my chosen career path was."

The present

Allie is enjoying her time at university and makes the most of the organisation on the course "I always plan my weeks and make sure I have a balance between my studies and doing other things that I enjoy, such as netball. One great thing is that the tutors of this course always tell you at the start of the module the assessments that need to be completed and when they need to be completed for so you can plan in advance."

"The great thing is, there are a variety of modules in which you can choose; therefore you are reading and learning things that you enjoy! After my first year at university my general skills related to studying really increased and I know that these are life long skills that I will keep with me throughout my career."

The future

"Due to the love of school life and the teaching environment, I am hoping to do a PGCE in secondary education after finishing my degree. This university is so supportive towards your future and the career advisors can help you with any queries if you are unsure about your future."

"I am thoroughly enjoying my time at the University as the facilities, tutors and general learning experience are excellent. Sport and Exercise Studies is the perfect course for anyone wanting to go into teaching or management and a lot of other Sporting careers."
