There are many advocates of sport as a desirable activity for children to engage in. Sport encompasses many life situations, where the participants can experience competition and co-operation, joy and disappointment, success and failure. Sport can also produce an environment where parents and coaches can place excessive physical and psychological demands on children in pursuit of vicarious satisfaction. Many adults who work with children do not appreciate that children are not mini-adults that can be treated in the same way as adults.
The purpose of this module is to explore the physical, social and psychological development of children and to relate the changes to sports activity. How will I be assessed? 100% coursework How many credits is it worth? 15
