Welcome to Biomedical Health and Human Biology

Biomedical Health and Human Biology sits within our Biosciences discipline and is focused around the concept of human health and well-being. The degrees offered within the discipline all have the same common underlying theme of understanding human health and how as scientists, we can look to increase the well-being of people both in the UK and worldwide.

The team has extensive research experience in human health and disease, the application of human health delivery within external health organisations such as the NHS, local government and pharmaceutical companies, and also in public health policies regulating EU and Global health.

We work closely with external organisations to investigate how biological, environmental and social factors can affect people’s health and well-being - these links have been successfully used as a range of excellent student work placements. We are also able to offer a range of short courses and/or staff training in health and well-being for the healthcare sector.
