How have you found your experiences so far?

"I found my first year at Derby University to be a pleasant surprise, being far more enjoyable than my initial expectations. I knew I had chosen the right place to further my education from the first day; I was greeted in the main atrium by a friendly atmosphere and smiling faces of the reception staff who explained exactly where to go and what to do. The same can be said for all the supportive lecturers, who are more than happy to go over any material that you may be struggling to understand."

What are you enjoying the most?

"The most enjoyable aspect of my first year at Derby University has to have been the fieldtrips. The benefit of being able to see and touch samples and specimens out in the field outweighs many things that you can read in a book or online in my opinion. These excursions also lead to much closer friendships between yourself and your peers. I have found this to create an ideal and relaxed working environment."
