Geology

Landslide

Our research and consultancy interests are diverse and reflect the interests and expertise of our staff.

Our Geology staff are involved in research and consultancy projects in the UK and overseas. We collaborate with a range of public and industrial organisations, including the British Geological Survey, the Environment Agency, The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, Derby City Council and the Universities of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Exeter and London (Imperial College).

Our research and consultancy feed directly into our teaching. Research is an important part of our undergraduate degree courses: all our students carry out research in the field or the laboratory as part of their Independent Study projects.
