With a degree in Biology there are many career options open for you.
Without the degree in Biology and the skills I have developed as a person along the way, I don't think I would have predicted a couple of years ago that this is what I'd be doing.

As a Biology student, you'll acquire in-depth subject-specific knowledge of biological systems and concepts. You'll also develop a range of practical and technical skills from laboratory sessions and learn how to use specialist techniques and technical equipment. A degree in Biology will also teach you to confidently handle masses of diverse data and to draw conclusions.

Jobs directly related to your degree
Pharmacologist - you'll investigate how drugs and chemicals interact with biological systems. Your aim will be to understand drugs and their actions so they can be used effectively and safely. You'll also carry out research to aid drug development.
Clinical Molecular Geneticist - you'll use biochemical and molecular biology techniques to identify genetic abnormalities associated with disease. Individuals are screened both before and after the appearance of symptoms.
Soil Scientist - you'll interpret and evaluate soil and soil-related information to understand how soil contributes to agricultural production, environmental quality, human health issues, climate change and biodiversity.
Nature Conservation Officer - you'll work to protect, manage and enhance the local environment, including promoting and implementing local and national biodiversity action plans in partnership with statutory and voluntary organisations.
Jobs where your degree would be useful
General Practice Doctor - you'll provide primary and continuing medical care for patients and you'll usually be the first contact for patients needing medical services.
Science Writer - you'll research, write and edit scientific news articles and features for business, trade and professional publications, specialist scientific and technical journals, and the general media.
Dentist - as a Dentist, you'll provide preventive and restorative treatments for problems that affect the mouth and teeth.
