"When I began my Access course I was unsure of what route I wanted to take, but after taking advice I decided that my interests lay with Biology and Chemistry. Following my graduation from Derby I undertook a PhD at University College London which involved creating synthetic materials for use in bone repair. I am currently continuing my research into Biomaterials at the University of Nottingham. My research has enabled me to attend many conferences around the world. I would never have got this far without the support, guidance and encouragement I received from my lecturers at the University of Derby, where it all started for me."
