Subject Research Ethics Committees (SRECs)

The primary responsibility for the ethical consideration and approval of research rests with Subject Research Ethics Committees (SRECs). These Committees' are responsible for monitoring the ethical status and if appropriate provide ethical approval for applications within their academic areas. Most applicants are considered at this level. The members of a Subject Research Ethics Committee adhere to a SREC Statement of Confidentiality (Word, 49k).

To allow members of SRECs to appropriately consider proposal forms they should be submitted in advance to a deadline defined by individual committees. Please contact the Chair of your SREC to find out more information.
