Systems Thinking an Organisational Change Research Group
Faculty of Business, Computing and Law
Systems thinking is potentially a way of understanding the complex world of organisations. Organisations are viewed as a series of systems from the perspective of the whole system, its various subsystems and the recurring patterns in the relationships between the subsystems. Systems theory is increasingly influencing how we can understand and change organisations in response to the ever-changing external business environment. Creating a Research Group in this area increases the potential for synergy, by the coming together of staff and practitioners in a formal University Research Group.
It is the intention of the newly formed to group to:
- Build on existing synergies with regard to current research and consultancy work.
- Build on potential synergy, for the benefit of the individual professional and career development, and for the benefit of BCL and UOD students and clients.
- Developing empirical research, with mutual support towards increasing publications.
- Generate new research and methodologies, which will inform teaching and curriculum development, thereby strengthening the teaching and research nexus within BCL.
- Potential to develop consultancy, to promote income development and sustainability of the research group
