Reflecting on cultural exchange
Expressing his individualism in a communist country
Professor Sebastian Blackie, an international authority on ceramics is preparing for his latest international research venture.
During 2008 he was one of just 17 UK artists invited to the Fu Ping International Museum of Contemporary Ceramics in China to make art work which will be on permanent display in the British Pavilion.
"It's remarkable that a communist country should tolerate a collection of work that is so expressive of individualism. The work I shall make is part of an ongoing reflection on cultural exchange called Trade.", Professor Sebastian Blackie.
