During Education Questions in the House of Commons on the 28th October David Blunkett asked the new Secretary of State about the current state of career guidance in England's schools. He drew on the Good Career Guidance report that iCeGS produced with the Gatsby Charitable Trust to make this point.

In the article Tristram argues that we have lost touch with the idea of 'career' and that it is time to stop focusing on trying to keep employers happy and short-term job matching, and instead start thinking about longer-term careers and lifelong development.
