Distributed and Intelligent Systems (DISYS) Research Group
DISYS is a research group wthin the School of Computing which promotes and supports state-of-the-art research in the field of emerging technologies, with a particular focus on peer-to-peer networks and cloud computing.
The emphasis is on the design and development of systems, heuristics, algorithms and protocols to facilitate the efficient and accurate discovery and use of versatile resources in large scale heterogeneous networks. The three year development strategy includes making a successful REF submission in 2012.
The group is headed by Professor Nik Bessis, with Dr Zaigham Mahmood acting as the operations coordinator of the group.
