Biological Sciences Research Group
The Biological Sciences Research Group has research interests that are wide ranging and cut across many disciplines. Our members work together on national and international collaborations, and bring to the Group a diverse collection of specialisms and expertise, which enhances our research. The group currently has several significant research areas, specifically:
- Plant conservation biotechnology, particularly the development and exploitation of cryopreservation
- The function and evolution of nuptial feeding in insects Molecular conservation genetics and evolutionary biology Cell biology of gynaecological and breast cancers
- Biophysical applications in biological and forensic sciences Interactions of toxic metals with biota; risk assessment of elements to human health
