Learning Beyond Registration

Learning Beyond Registration (LBR) is a vital part of developing competent, capable health service practitioners prepared to deliver a dynamic, flexible, quality, client-focused service. If you're employed by the NHS in the East Midlands then you may be eligible for fee-free access to our LBR modules and/or programmes. You'll need to supply evidence of approval from your line manager and Trust Education Lead when you apply.

About this module

Professional Practice education is an important element of professional qualifications resulting in students on successful completion of undergraduate programmes gaining registration to practice.

This module prepares for and evaluates a student placement of a minimum of six weeks and considers the students learning. The educator needs to embrace reflective learning theory and demonstrate an understanding of the need for competence to practice in the assessment process.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this module you will be able to:

  1. Develop a rationale for student education within the work setting. 
  2. Implement and critically evaluate a universities Professional Practice Education module by supervising a student for a minimum of six weeks. 
  3. Reflect on yourself as an educator and critically evaluate the learning which has taken place.
