Learning Beyond Registration

Learning Beyond Registration (LBR) is a vital part of developing competent, capable health service practitioners prepared to deliver a dynamic, flexible, quality, client-focused service. If you're employed by the NHS in the East Midlands then you may be eligible for fee-free access to our LBR modules and/or programmes. You'll need to supply evidence of approval from your line manager and Trust Education Lead when you apply.

About this module

On completion of this module you will be equipped to become an independent practitioner.  It is therefore essential that you have an in-depth understanding of the genesis of a wide range of psychological and emotional problems at this level. 

An appreciation of innovative approaches and current research are investigated and critically examined to facilitate ethical practice based on evidence and current research.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the module, you will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to critically defend theoretical assumptions and practice decisions with complex cases within a professional and ethical legal context.
  2. Demonstrate an ability to conceptualise complex human problems from an integrative perspective whilst taking into account issues of diversity socio-cultural factors including gender, therapeutic relationship, socio-economic and environmental influences.
  3. Demonstrate structured and research based integrative interventions and methods of working with complex human problems, synthesising and adapting their approach to meet the individual needs of service users.
