Paying your bills
Your rent won't usually cover your gas, electricity and other utility bills.
Your tenancy agreement will tell you the bills that you're liable for and the services that your landlord will pay for.
If you're sharing a house with other students, you'll usually split your bills equally with everyone living in the house. This may be by quarterly bill, payment card, or you may like to make an arrangment with a bill sharing service.
Make sure you let the service providers know you've moved in
When you move in make sure you let the gas, electricity, telephone and water companies know as soon as you can.
You'll need take take the appropriate meter readings at both the start and end of your tenancy.
Your water rates
Some landlords pay the water bills for their properties. But sometimes you'll be expected to pay.
