Solihull College
[Note: The University's partnership with Solihull College is in the process of closing. Student enrolment has now ceased]
The College was founded in 1954 as Solihull Technology College. It's one of the largest general further education colleges in the West Midlands and is also established as one of the top five providers of higher education courses within a further education environment in the region.
Facilities are first rate and are housed in an interesting mix of buildings that are indicative of the history, dynamic present and future. At one end of the chronological scale is Tudor Grange House, a stunning example of romantic architecture dating from 1883, which once belonged to Alfred Bird, founder of the Birds Custard Company. At the other end of the scale Solihull College unveiled a new high tech, custom built campus in the north of the borough in September 2006.
