The Awbery Management Centre is an independent company specialising in the design and delivery of management and development training.
Originally servicing the coal industry, the delegate base has broadened to include a wide range of geographically dispersed organisations in both the private and public sectors
Collaborative arrangements between Awbery and the University of Derby include the validation of Awbery's Holistic Leadership Programme (HLP) and Business Leadership Programme (BLP). Both the HLP and BLP are stand-alone, integrated management development programmes. These programmes provide advanced standing to the University's Postgraduate Certificate and Diploma in Management retrospectively. An integrated team consisting of staff from both the Awbery and Derbyshire Business School (DBS) deliver these programmes. DBS staff also deliver the 'top-up' modules leading to the final stage of the MBA.
Programmes
The following programmes are currently running at Awbery Management Centre:
- Holistic Leadership Programme (HLP)
- Business Leadership Programme (BLP)
- Master of Business Administration (off-campus delivery)
(The MBA Programme consists of three stages - Certificate in Management, Diploma in Management and Master of Business Administration)
Enrolment
Students apply to Awbery Management Centre and enrol throughout the year. Student application and enrolment data is forwarded to UoD for input into the UoD Student Records System and a letter providing login details to the University's online virtual learning enviroment (UDO), web links to the UDo Student Guide (inc useful contacts) and the Universities 'Rights, Responsibilities and Regulations' document along with student ID cards are sent to the students.
Assessment
Student results are considered at Assessment Boards that take place in January, March, July and November. The Assessment Boards consider student progression and award.
Award Ceremonies
Awarding students are invited to attend the University of Derby Awards Ceremonies which are held in January.
