[Note: The University's partnership with Gestalt Academy is in the process of closing. Student enrolment has now ceased]
Gestalt Academy is a private, non-profit making psychotherapy training organisation. This collaborative commenced in 1996 with approval for the delivery by the Gestalt Academy of an MA Gestalt Psychotherapy developed by the University of Derby and the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute.
The programme was reviewed and revalidated as an MSc award in 2001 for delivery at Gestalt Academy, at which time the formal arrangement between the Academy and Sherwood ended, although strong professional links continue between the two organisations. At the same time, the MSc Gestalt in Organisations was developed jointly by the University and Academy and approved for delivery by the Academy.
The programme attracts students aged over 21 years who have completed undergraduate education and who are resident in countries across Scandinavia. Delivery and assessment is mainly in Swedish, but also includes Danish, English and some Norwegian. Similarly, whilst the programmes are delivered predominantly in Stockholm, training centres in Denmark and elsewhere in Sweden are also used for residential delivery.
